Liquor Store Ribbon Cutting
The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce is assisting The Beer, Liquor and Tobacco Shop with a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, April 29 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Beer, Liquor and Tobacco Shop is located at 2247 Boundary Street in Beaufort. Refreshments will be served. A mescado and red wine tasting, and a tequila tasting will both take place from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. as part of the grand opening celebration. Doggie Easter Egg Hunt
Join us after Easter on Saturday, April 30th. Easter is not over until the dogs get to hunt. Don’t forget your favorite pooches this year. The hunt will begin at 11:00 in the back agility course of Beaufort Dog (1307 Boundary Street). Then, join us at 11:30-1 for a pre-water park opening party and socialization with lots of freebies…free to the public. Please bring your dog’s updated vaccination report.
Gilligan’s Restaurant to Host Spring Vendor Show
Gilligan’s, at 2601 Boundary Street, will host a Home Vendor Spring Show on Saturday April 30, 2011 from 11-2 pm. There will be 19 vendors displaying their products and services. Most of the vendors are home businesses. Each vendor will have a drawing for a door prize. Gilligan’s will also be giving out goodie bags to the first 50 people (18 and older), which will be filled with goodies from all the businesses. There will be something for everyone so stop by and check us out.

EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION BEAUFORT COMING TO THE BIG SCREEN MAY 1st
ABC television announced today that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Beaufort will air on Sunday night, May 1, 2011 at 8:00 pm. To celebrate the airing, H2 Builders is hosting a public Viewing Party Picnic from 6-9 pm at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in historic downtown Beaufort. The episode will be shown on the park’s big screen, and attendees are encouraged to bring pinic blankets and picnic items to enjoy before the screening. The Dickinson Family and H2 Builders will be in attendance.
Sons of Confederate Veterans to meet
Beaufort County’s Gen. Richard H. Anderson Camp #47 Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) will hold their monthly meeting on Monday May 2nd. The meeting will be held in the Harmony Masonic Lodge located at 2710 Depot Road in Beaufort, starting promptly at 7:00 pm. Daniel Hoyt Daniels, a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer, author and teacher of Romance Languages in the United States. He is someone you might feel just stepped out of a Charles Dickens novel, a self confessed “Reconstructed Northerner” who will be speaking on “his views” of Abraham Lincoln and secession. Meetings are open to the public and guests and those interested in learning more about the SCV are encouraged to attend. Beaufort High School Dance Ensemble to Perform
The Beaufort High School Dance Ensemble will present their Annual Spring Dance Concert on Thursday, May 5th and Friday, May 6th in The Arts Center at Beaufort High School. The performance will begin at 7:00pm This concert showcases student choreography projects and includes the Dance II, III, and IV ensembles. Special recognition of our Senior Dancers will take place on Friday, May 6. Tickets will be $5 in advance and $7 at the door. First Friday Networking
The Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce will have its First Friday Networking Event from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. May 6th at Sea Island Furniture Mart located at 46 Robert Smalls Parkway. Lowcountry Autism Foundation (LAF) to hold fourth Annual Spring Fling
Lowcountry Autism Foundation’s Fourth Annual Spring Fling is under way and event organizers are in need of additional items for the live auction. All of the proceeds support operations of the recently opened LAF Comprehensive Therapy Center and will continue supporting many families affected by autism in the Lowcountry. The Spring Fling will take place at 6 p.m. May 7 at the Palmetto Hall Clubhouse on Hilton Head Island. The evening is semi-formal/cocktail attire and will include live entertainment, dinner, dancing and a silent auction. Tickets are $75 per person. This year Hope Haven will be honoring our very own Shannon Erickson for her service to our community and her advocacy for children’s issues. Purchase your luncheon ticket by calling us at 524-2256.
